Hoy me dispongo a hablar de mi clima favorito, porque sí, me encanta la lluvia, pero obviamente solo me gusta contemplarla desde mi ventana, porque mojarse en ella no me resulta agradable a mi edad, como si me lo parecía cuando era un niño. Las tardes lluviosas siempre me han perecido bohemias, ideales tal vez para tomar una relajante siesta, sin embargo hay muchas otras cosas que me gusta hacer...
Write (Escribir)
I really enjoy handwriting. In fact, a few days ago I wrote a post for an initiative that addressed this topic. I think writing by hand is satisfying; writing has always been a way for humankind to leave a tangible memory, proof of their presence in the world. Through this medium, humanity has communicated and told its story. But what do I write? Well, I write anything and everything, from reflections to drafts of the posts I plan to write for the week. I also like to keep an anecdotal record of important things in my life and my family's. I do this regardless of whether it's raining or not, but for some reason, I feel more inspired on rainy afternoons, especially if I spend time contemplating the rain.
Yo disfruto mucho la escritura a mano, de hecho hace unos días redacté un post para una iniciativa que hablaba de ese tema, y es que pienso que escribir a mano es satisfactorio, la escritura siempre ha sido una manera en la que el hombre deja un recuerdo tangible, una prueba de su paso por el mundo, a través de este medio la humanidad se ha comunicado y ha contado su historia, ¿pero qué escribo? pues escribo lo que sea, desde reflexiones hasta el borrador de los post que pienso hacer para la semana, pero también me gusta llevar un registro anecdótico de cosas importantes de mi vida y la de mi familia. Esto lo hago sin importar si llueve o no, pero durante esas tardes lluviosas por alguna razón me siento más inspirado, en especial si me pongo a contemplar la lluvia.

Another thing I really enjoy doing is reading a book while listening to the rain in the background. The patter of the raindrops on any surface is very relaxing for me, as is feeling the refreshing breeze (when it's not too cold, of course). So one of the things I feel like doing is choosing a book from my shelf and starting to read. I also have some books in digital format on my computer, but I enjoy reading in physical format much more while listening to the rain.
Otra cosa que me gusta muchísimo hacer es leer un libro mientras escucho la lluvia de fondo, ese repiqueteo de las gotas de agua en cualquier superficie me resulta muy relajante, al igual que recibir la brisa refrescante (cuando no es demasiado fría, claro) entonces una de las cosas me provoca hacer es elegir algún libro de mi estante y comenzar a leer, también tengo algunos libros en formato digital en la computadora, pero disfruto mucho más leer en formato físico mientras escucho la lluvia.

Another thing I enjoy doing on rainy afternoons is listening to music, but not just any kind. For these occasions, I like to choose old songs, from my childhood and youth—"retro music," as they call it now. There's one song in particular that I love to listen to, and I always dedicate it to my wife. It's called "Canción de Otoño" (Autumn Song), and the lyrics evoke a rainy day while someone takes refuge by the warmth of a fireplace. Along with José Luis Perales's pleasant voice, I find it very relaxing; for me, it's a song specifically made to listen to when it's raining.
Otra de las cosas que también me gusta hacer durante las tardes lluviosas es escuchar música, pero no cualquier tipo de música, para estos casos me gusta elegir canciones antiguas, de los tiempos de mi niñez y juventud, "música retro" como le llaman ahora. Hay una canción en particular que me gusta oír y siempre se la dedico a mi esposa, se llama "Canción de Otoño" y precisamente la letra evoca un día lluvioso mientras alguien se refugia al calor del fuego de la chimenea. Esto además de la agradable voz de Jose Luis Perales me resulta muy relajante, es para mi una canción específicamente hecha para oír cuando hay lluvia.
Drink Coffee (Beber Café)
I also love hot chocolate, obviously, but for me, the essential drink for those rainy afternoons is coffee. I prefer it with milk and sometimes a hint of vanilla, but when I pour my coffee, I use a large mug, one of those that look like a thermos, haha. In my opinion, coffee and rain go hand in hand; one can't exist without the other. Coffee is also an excellent companion for an afternoon of reading, for entertaining friends, for finding inspiration, and for warming you up when those raindrops chill the air. When it rains heavily, the walls of the house get cold, so what could be better than wrapping yourself in a blanket while enjoying good music or a book and a delicious cup of coffee?
También me gusta el chocolate caliente obviamente, pero para mi la bebida infaltable para esas tardes lluviosas es el café. Prefiero tomarlo con leche y a veces con un ligero toque a vainilla, pero cuando me sirvo el café lo hago en una taza grande, de esas que parecen termos, jaja, es que en mi opinión el café y la lluvia van de la mano, no puede existir uno sin el otro. El café es un excelente acompañante también para una tarde de lectura, para recibir amigos, para conseguir inspiración y para hacerte entrar en calor cuando esas gotas de lluvia enfrían el ambiente. Cuando llueve mucho las paredes de la casa se enfrían, entonces ¿Qué mejor que envolverse en una manta mientras disfrutas de buena música o un libro y una deliciosa taza de café?
