Decir que me siento “FELIZ” no se si exprese en su totalidad todo lo que siento como Madre; este sentimiento es algo que he esperado durante mucho tiempo, porque solo tu y yo sabemos por cuanto tuviste que pasar para llegar a este día.

To say that I feel “HAPPY” does not fully express everything I feel as a mother; this feeling is something I have waited for a long time, because only you and I know how much you had to go through to get to this day.

Todos los que te queremos estamos contentos, orgullosos de verte así vestido, logrando un sueño más en tu vida.

Hoy después de tantos esfuerzos has logrado concluir una parte de tus estudios universitarios, por eso debes sentirte dichoso, agradecido con Dios, con la vida por haberte permitido surcar tantas dificultades, tantas limitaciones que tuviste en tu camino.

All of us who love you are happy and proud to see you dressed like this, achieving another dream in your life.

Today, after so much effort, you have completed part of your university studies, so you should feel happy and grateful to God and to life for allowing you to overcome so many difficulties and limitations that stood in your way.

Tal vez nunca te lo he dicho, pero te admiro, nunca te dejaste vencer por las adversidades. Solo los padres venezolanos sabemos lo que tuviste que pasar desde que empezaste el bachillerato porque fue cuando inicio la crisis más terrible que ha pasado Venezuela en siglos. Aguantamos hambre, hicimos colas para poder conseguirles el pan de cada día, no teníamos para darte para el pasaje porque no había ni efectivo, ni tampoco transporte publico por el tema de la gasolina. Recuerdo como tu papa se esforzaba para conseguir dinero, mientras que yo pasaba días entero en colas interminables para conseguir harina de maíz, azúcar, mejor dicho, todo lo que necesita una persona para vivir.

I may never have told you this, but I admire you for never letting adversity defeat you. Only Venezuelan parents know what you had to go through since you started high school because that was when the most terrible crisis Venezuela has experienced in centuries began. We endured hunger, we stood in line to get our daily bread, we couldn't afford to give you money for transportation because there was no cash, nor was there public transportation due to the gasoline shortage. I remember how your dad struggled to make money, while I spent entire days in endless lines to get corn flour, sugar, in short, everything a person needs to live.

Luego vino el covid-19 y superaste también esos obstáculos, educación a distancia, encierro, enfermedad, ver partir a nuestros seres queridos sin tan siquiera poder darles un último adiós.

Sobrevivimos a un gobierno corrupto, con la peor educación pública, pero por suerte tuviste a un padre que se partió el lomo (así decimos en mi pueblo) para darte una mejor educación en un sistema privado.

Then COVID-19 came along, and you overcame those obstacles too: distance learning, lockdown, illness, seeing our loved ones leave without even being able to say a final goodbye.

We survived a corrupt government with the worst public education system, but luckily you had a father who worked his fingers to the bone (as we say in my town) to give you a better education in a private system.

Como no sentirme feliz, eres un triunfador, año tras año me demostraste que puedes lograr todo lo que te propongas en la vida, por eso hoy me siento tranquila, porque me siento segura de decir que lo que está por venir será más fácil de llevar, ya que estas preparado para luchar contra lo que sea y así seguirás cosechando triunfos.

How could I not be happy? You are a winner. Year after year, you have shown me that you can achieve anything you set your mind to in life. That is why I feel calm today, because I am confident in saying that what lies ahead will be easier to bear, since you are prepared to fight against anything and will continue to reap successes.

No hay imposibles para ti Fabian, porque te has sabido acompañar del mejor amigo de la vida “DIOS”.

Así que solo me queda agradecerte y decirte que hoy nos has hecho sentir los papas más felices y orgullosos del mundo. Que Dios te siga bendiciendo y guiando tu camino hijo amado. Te amamos mucho.

Nothing is impossible for you, Fabian, because you have known how to surround yourself with the best friend in life, “GOD.”
