Good morning, everyone! It's freezing here; where I live, we're having a very cold season this year. To warm myself up, and maybe warm you up too if you're feeling the same, and coffee isn't enough, I've drawn a new card for the game, and you can see the process of how I made it today. I drew R582 Hne. This is a beautiful instrument card. It's a traditional Hne from countries like Myanmar. I'm sure many of you who play the game are from that country and must know it very well. That's why I'm so happy to draw it today, since it's a well-known instrument.
For those who don't know, it's a horn, played similarly to a flute. That is, you blow into one side, and the holes control the sound coming out of the flared part. The difference between a flute and this is that this one obviously has the concave bottom to amplify the sound with that flared section. I'll leave a sample video so you can see how it's played. It reminds me a lot of the military bugles used in armies to rouse guards or to give signals.
Did you hear that curious sound? Of course, in the hands of someone skilled with the hne, it sounds even better, and depending on the context in which it's played, its importance in Myanmar music increases. I'm going to show you now how I made the drawing. First, I drew the inner frame of the card.
After finishing the frame, I drew the central part of the hne horn. This is where I'll later make the holes to control the music. Following that, I drew the distinctive bell-shaped part of this instrument, which makes it different from a flute.
The next step was to draw the upper mouthpiece where the air is blown and some of the decorative strips on the hne. Depending on its use, the colors change; in this case, they'll be red, which can symbolize joy.
Now comes the painting, which is, as always, the most fun part to watch. It was the part I enjoyed the most, although everything is entertaining to do and to watch. It's best if you see it for yourselves.
And to say goodbye for today, here's the final result. See you in the next drawing.
