When you're parents pass on the debts are gone, even if they were substantial as it was when my parents passed on. I know in some Asian countries there are multigenerational mortgages, that would suck to inherit a mortgage to keep paying because the property is so expensive it can't be paid off in one lifetime.
Debt sucks is the plain and simple fact of life... Avoid it at all cost! That's my advice!
