Hive needs meaningful comments
A meaningful and engaging comment can be just as valuable as the blog itself. It shows someone read your post, took the time to think, and wanted to share their thoughts. That’s what builds real connections. That’s what makes Hive feel alive.
Meaningful comments are often under-rewarded. Especially compared to the rewards that blog posts can get. We believe that when someone takes the time to read a blog and writes a meaningful reply, they deserve to be rewarded for that. That’s why we started @topcomment With the @topcomment Curation service we upvote high-quality, engaging comments so engaging will be rewarded. With this we hope to stimulate engagement on the Hive blockchain.
How does it work?
First of all we want to make clear that the @topcomment is a manual curation service. Our team checks every comment to see if it deserves our upvote. There are two ways for us to finds great comments:
Scanning for comments
We run a script that gathers comments from a certain length and collects these in a discord channel. The length of a comment often is a sign that someone put effort into it. We check these comments manually and upvote the ones that meet our guidelines.
Nominations
We’re getting more comments than we can vote on with our voting power, so there’s always quality comments that don’t get upvoted via the scripts. But you can also nominate a high quality comment yourself too. You can do this by replying to the comment and mention @topcomment in your reply. It doesn’t even need to be a comment on your own blog. There is no limit to the number of nominations.
What kind of comments get rewarded?
There’s no fixed formula, but we look for comments that:
Show that the commenter read the blog. Respond to the content, either by agreeing, disagreeing, or adding insights. Show effort and personal thought. It doesn’t matter if someone disagrees as long as the discussion is respecful.
What doesn’t get rewarded?
To keep things fair and positive, we’ve set a few rules:
Short or generic replies like “Great blog!” won’t be upvoted. Comments related to controversial or hateful topics are excluded. AI-generated comments are not eligible and the users will be muted. Comments that already have high rewards are skipped. Contest entries or giveaway replies Comments from users with a reputation of 25 or lower don’t get upvotes as this often signals issues or abuse.

Delegate Hive Power
Our curation service runs on delegated Hive Power. The height of the votes we can give away depends on the amount of support we get from you. The more Hive Power, the higher our upvote. Delegating HP is also beneficial for you since we return 80% of the curation rewards. These are given back to our delegators in liquid Hive. We use the 20% to grow the @topcomment account.

¿Cómo funciona?
Primero queremos dejar claro que @topcomment es un servicio de curación manual. Nuestro equipo revisa cada comentario para evaluar si merece nuestro voto. Hay dos formas en las que encontramos comentarios significativos:
Escaneo de comentarios
Ejecutamos un script que recopila comentarios que tienen cierta longitud y los recoge en un canal de Discord. La longitud de un comentario generalmente indica que alguien ha puesto esfuerzo en él. Revisamos estos comentarios manualmente y votamos aquellos que cumplen con nuestras directrices.
Nominaciones
Recibimos más comentarios de los que podemos votar con nuestro poder de voto, así que siempre hay comentarios de calidad que no reciben votos a través del script. Pero tú también puedes nominar un comentario de alta calidad. Solo tienes que responder al comentario y mencionar a @topcomment en tu respuesta. Ni siquiera tiene que ser un comentario en tu propio blog. No hay límite en la cantidad de nominaciones.
¿Qué tipo de comentarios son recompensados?
No hay una fórmula estricta, pero buscamos comentarios que: Muestren que el comentarista leyó la publicación.
Respondan al contenido, ya sea estando de acuerdo, en desacuerdo o añadiendo ideas.
Demuestren esfuerzo y pensamiento personal. No importa si alguien no está de acuerdo, mientras la discusión sea respetuosa.
¿Qué no es recompensado?
Para mantener las cosas justas y positivas, hemos establecido algunas reglas: Respuestas cortas o genéricas como "¡Buen post!" no recibirán votos.
Comentarios sobre temas controvertidos u odiosos están excluidos. Comentarios generados por IA no son elegibles y los usuarios serán silenciados. Comentarios que ya tienen recompensas altas serán omitidos. Entradas a concursos o respuestas a sorteos.
Comentarios de usuarios con reputación de 25 o menor no reciben votos, ya que esto suele indicar problemas o abuso.
